MONTPELIER — The Master of Fine Arts program in graphic design offered at the Vermont College of Fine Arts has been named one of the nation’s top graduate programs in the field by Print Magazine, a trade publication that covers the design industry.

Other MFA programs in graphic design that are featured in the August issue of the publication include those at Yale University and the Rhode Island School of Design.

According to a news release from the college in Montpelier, the program is one of the nation’s first low-residency programs in graphic design and is built around a student’s individual interests and creative goals. The two-year graduate program includes five one-week residencies with four six-month semesters of independent study with a range of faculty mentors.
