    Know the facts

The following news item was printed in the July 15 edition of The Times Argus, “Egypt presented a cease-fire plan Monday to end a week of heavy fighting between Israel and Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip that has left at least 185 people dead.” To the casual reader, one might assume that there were casualties on both sides, when in fact all of the 185 dead were Palestinians with 80 percent of the deaths being women and children.
