RANDOLPH — A teenager who police said raced through a parking lot and backed into a trash container in Randolph faces a charge of careless and negligent operation.

Vermont State Police say they also saw Christopher Barnaby, 16, of Bethel, driving a Chevy Malibu 60 mph in a 40 mph zone early on July 5 before he sped through the McDonald’s parking lot on Route 66, hit a Dumpster and stopped in a parking spot.

Barnaby is due in court July 30.
