ROXBURY — Jacquelyn L. Wood, 62, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
She was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, on Jan. 16, 1952, the daughter of Sterling and Margaret (Blanchard) Whiteley. She graduated from North Country High School in Newport in 1971. She later earned an associate degree in psychology from the Community College of Vermont.
She had been married to Alonzo Wood and James Williams.
She had worked many years at Cabot Hosiery in Northfield and the Sugarbush Mountain Resort in the Valley. She also was an owner of Roxbury Stone Works, a landscaping business.
Survivors include two daughters, Alonza Wood, of Northfield, and Linda Vitelli, of New York City; longtime companion Andrew Flynn, of Northfield; three sisters, Katherine Osterhoudt, of Kissimmee, Florida, Deborah Whiteley Gulley, of Kerrville, Texas, and Evelyn Sharp, of New Braunfels, Texas; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Zarod Williams, and brother, Butch Whiteley.
In keeping with her wishes, there are no calling hours. A gathering to celebrate her life will be conducted Thursday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at the Roxbury Fire Station. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 1 Kennedy Drive, Suite L8, South Burlington, VT 05403. Kingston Funeral Home in Northfield assisted with the arrangements.
