    Curtis M. Stark Rites

    VERGENNES — The committal and graveside service with full military honors for Master Sgt. Curtis M. Stark, VANG (retired), was held Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. He died at his retirement home in Graniteville, South Carolina, on Feb. 24, 2014.

    Bishop Daniel Morris of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hersey Road, Berlin, led the service and dedicated the grave.

    Randolph American Legion Post 9 provided the color guard.

    The funeral honors team of the Vermont Army National Guard, Camp Johnson, Colchester, provided the firing party, the rendering of taps and the flag detail.

    The American flag draped over the casket was folded and presented to his wife, Laura, and a prefolded American flag was presented to his mother, Julie Stark, by the honors team.

    Copies of a written tribute of love, remembrance, honor and respect for his father and mentor, written by his stepson, William Vaughan, were given to the congregation.

    Fellowship and luncheon followed at the Barre American Legion Post 10.

    The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, was in charge of the arrangements.
