BURLINGTON — Authorities say a man considered a person of interest in a suspicious death has been found competent following a psychiatric evaluation.
Court papers said 52-year-old Mark Delude told others he acted in self-defense when he killed Forrest Bryant in May at a Burlington homeless encampment. He was charged with obstruction of justice.
Delude has been jailed for lack of $10,000 bail at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans.
Lawyers told Judge Samuel Hoar at a hearing Monday the state was waiting for a medical examiner’s report before deciding whether to bring homicide charges against Delude.MORE IN This Just InMONTPELIER — The state attorney general’s office has sued former lieutenant governor candidate... Full Story
