    Harwood baseballís thank you

The 2014 Harwood varsity baseball team notched a season unequaled in a generation. These 13 young men ran up a 12-1 regular season record, earned the Division 2 tournament top seed and played a hard-fought championship game to a packed house of Highlander fans at Recreation Field in Montpelier.

It was the first championship appearance for Harwood baseball since 1985. While our aspirations for the crown fell short in a 7-4 loss at the hands of Mill River, the season was nevertheless a resounding success. As Harwood baseballís head coach for the past 12 seasons, I am so very proud, pleased and thankful for the amazing support we experienced all year. Beginning with our Harwood family of students and teachers and staff, extending to fans of all ages in the surrounding Harwood district towns, and including a good number of other Vermonters who were attracted simply by our Highlander brand of baseball and sportsmanship.

Our veteran coaching staff and talented team of student-athletes, paced by seven graduated seniors, made this a most memorable season. We look forward to many more exciting seasons and thank you for your ongoing support of Harwood baseball.
