• Lost hiker found unharmed

    STOWE — Vermont State Police say a lost hiker on Smugglers Notch was found uninjured.

    State police received a report around 11 p.m. Tuesday that Richard Stanley, 34, of Towanda, Pennsylvania., had become lost. State police say Stanley was able to talk to rescuers by cellphone. Members from Stowe Mountain Rescue and the state police rescue team responded and Stanley was located and extracted.
