Strong schools, strong city
Iím a Barre City resident, homeowner and taxpayer. My husband and I are parents of three young boys, the eldest of which is in first grade at Barre City Elementary and Middle School. Iím writing to encourage your readers to vote in favor of the BCEMS budget Tuesday. The proposed budget represents a little more than a pennyís increase over this yearís budget. Even with a small increase, Barre has one of the lowest school tax rates in the area. I moved here in 2001 because Barre was (and is) an up-and-coming city and a great place to live and raise a family. Voting for this school budget, which is thoughtfully prepared by professionals and invests in programming for our students, is a vote for the future of Barre. Letís continue to move Barre forward.
A community is only as strong and healthy as its families and schools. Join me in voting yes for the BCEMS budget June 10. And contact me if you would like to help get out the vote at firstname.lastname@example.org (Iím also in the phone book). Other parents and I are working to put together several voter outreach efforts up to and including the day of the revote. Come help get out the vote.
