• NECI heads to show in Chicago

    MONTPELIER — The New England Culinary Institute’s chief operating officer and executive chef, Jean Louis Gerin, will represent the city’s culinary school at the National Restaurant Association’s annual show set to begin Saturday in Chicago.

    The show is the largest of its kind in North America, according to a NECI announcement.

    Gerin said of his trip to Chicago for the annual restaurant association show: “This is absolutely the perfect place for NECI to be. We have alumni throughout the show in a wide variety of industries. It is a testament to the fact that with a culinary degree, there are a huge number of career options.”

    Joining Gerin will be chef Peg Checchi, chairwoman of NECI’s online education program.
