Walk and Roll Montpelier goes all month
MONTPELIER — Walking and biking are being celebrated this month in the Capital City with several public events. The program, Walk and Roll Montpelier, is aimed at promoting walking and biking as safe, healthy, fun forms of transit, according to the Montpelier Bicycle Advisory Committee.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays: Onion River Sports RoadSpokes 201 and RoadSpokes 101 weekly cycling group rides. All rides leave from Montpelier High School promptly at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday’s ride is an intermediate level training ride; Wednesday’s is an entry-level or recovery/casual-paced ride. Both rides have a no-drop policy.
Tuesdays: Boomer Bike Rides — Classroom presentations on bicycling followed by a guided, gentle bicycle ride. They run from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Montpelier Senior Activity Center.
Saturdays: The Bike to Brunch Series rolls out of Montpelier High School at 10 a.m. to a different cafe in the area.
Saturdays: Onion River Sports Saturday group road rides — Entry-level to intermediate-level group rides with a no-drop policy leave from the Onion River Sports parking lot at 9 a.m.
May 24: Family Safety Clinic and Ride at 10 a.m. in the Montpelier High School parking lot, followed by an easy ride around the Three Mile Bridge to the Dairy Creme.
