The Rev. Carl Hilton-Van Osdall, pastor of the church, led the service, reading from the Scriptures and offering the meditation. Organist and pianist Alison Cheroff accompanied the congregation in the hymns “How Great Thou Art” and “Lead, Kindly Light” and special song “The Rose.”
The musical offerings included “Wind Beneath My Wings,” sung by Nicole Woodcock, accompanied by pianist Cheroff, and “This is Your Song,” which was composed and rendered by guitarist-soloist and granddaughter Ali Grenier. Ali also sang with Nicole the James Taylor song “Fire and Rain.”
Those who shared memories included her daughter the Rev. Tamara Tomasini Grenier, from her text “My Mother is a Story Woman,” as well as daughter Rhonda Tomasini Thygesen; grandchildren Kellan Grenier and Ryan, Kristy and Katie Thygesen; and longtime friend from Spaulding High School days Sue Lague.
