    THETFORD — The Olympians shut out the Panthers with three runs in the first inning and six in the sixth inning for a 9-0 softball win on Tuesday.

    Amanda Wheeler led the Olympians, going 2-for-4 with a base hit and five stolen bases. Oxbow scored its other runs from a lot of base hits and walks.

    “We played good defense, just like we have been playing,” said Oxbow coach Robin Wozny. “We got through this high -scoring game without getting an error because of our defense.”

    Pitching for Oxbow was Leah Hanzas, who allowed three hits, one walk and four strikeouts. While Rozlon Kidder allowed six hits, five walks and three strikeouts for Thetford.

    Oxbow improves to 6-0 and travels to Harwood Thursday.
