    Gonzalo Lavin Rites

    BARRE TOWN — The graveside and committal service for Gonzalo “Zalo” Lavin, of Barre View Street, was held Thursday, May 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Hope Cemetery in Barre City. He died April 25, 2014, at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center.

    Longtime family friend Bruce W. Judd led the service and read the poems “The Dash” and “Afterglow.”

    Great-grandniece Becky Somaini shared some of her memories of her favorite uncle, Tio “Zalo.”

    Fellowship, a sharing time and luncheon followed at the Hilltop Restaurant in Barre Town.

    The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, was in charge of the arrangements.
