    Virginia N. Cano Rites

    BARRE — A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at 10 a.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre for Virginia N. Cano, of North Barre Manor, who passed away on April 23, 2014, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

    The Rev. Leopold J. Bilodeau, pastor of the church, was the celebrant.

    Crucifer Lawrence Reilly was altar server and led the Prayer of the Faithful.

    Pianist Sarah Killough accompanied soloist David Roy, son-in-law, in the hymns “Softly and Tenderly,” “Jesus Loves Me,” “Oh How I Love Jesus” and “Amazing Grace.”

    Words of remembrance were shared by Sara Rhodes, granddaughter.

    Scripture readings from the Old Testament were read by David Roy, son-in-law, and Neal Rhodes, grandson, read Scriptures from the New Testament.

    Offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Marie Drury, Rosanna Paquet and Marilyn Townsend, all nieces.

    Assisting as Eucharistic minister was Cecile Carbonneau, a family friend.

    Pallbearers were Neal Rhodes, grandson; James Woodard and David Park, both nephews; and Bob Plastridge, a cousin.

    Father Bilodeau led a prayer service with the family Tuesday morning at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre.

    Burial followed the Mass at Hope Cemetery in Barre, where Father Bilodeau led the committal prayers.

    Arrangements were in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre.
