Aaron J. Sayers
BARRE — Aaron J. Sayers, 40, died Saturday, April 26, 2014, of cancer, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.
He was born in Berlin on April 13, 1974, the son of James A. Sayers Jr. and Deborah F. Rigg.
He attended Barre schools and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1993. He also attended Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, N.H.
He worked for the Micron Computer Co. in Boise, Idaho, and later as a disc technician at IBM. His last employment was at Cabot Hosiery, where he retired due to ill health.
On May 26, 2011, he married Malinda Philibert in Barre. They lived in the Barre area.
He was a lifetime member of the Baseball Hall of Fame and was an avid Red Sox fan.
Survivors include his wife and six sons, Connor, Aidan, Riley, Kaleb, Kolby and Mason Sayers, all of Barre. He is also survived by his father, of Barre; his mother, Deborah F. Sayers, of New Braunfels, Texas; two sisters, Michelle L. Withers, of New Braunfels, and Renee L. Rapp, of Weiser, Idaho; his paternal grandparents; one niece; and nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at the Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 249 Airport Road in Barre. There will be no calling hours.
The Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St. in Barre, assisted the family with the arrangements.
