Raymond A. Flood Rites
BARRE — The funeral service and celebration of the life of Raymond A. Flood, 79, of Farwell Street, was held on Monday, April 21, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre. He passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.
The Rev. Robert Walton, pastor of the Crossroads Christian Church in East Montpelier, officiated. Soloist David Davis sang the hymns, “Does Jesus Care,” “Burdens Are Lifted at Calvary,” “Amazing Grace,” “The Beautiful Garden of Prayer” and “In the Garden.”
Reflections were offered by son-in-law Daniel Lessard; son Paul Flood; daughter Dianah Guyett; granddaughter Ann Guyett; and other members in the congregation.
Interment took place in the Hope Cemetery in Barre with the Rev. Walton offering the committal prayers. Bearers were grandsons Brandon Flood, Cody Flood, Ronald Flood and Francis Guyett; and great-grandsons Kyle Henderson, Calvin Lessard-Wallin and Austin Tucker. Honorary bearers were brother Leland Flood and lifelong friend John Messier.
Following the committal service, family and friends gathered at the Canadian Club in Barre Town for a time of fellowship and refreshments.
