    William O. Avery Rites

    EAST ORANGE — The funeral service and celebration of life for William O. “Bill” Avery, 82, of Fish Pond Road, was held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre. He died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

    The Rev. Candace Ricker, pastor of the New Hope United Methodist Church in Waits River, led the service. The Scripture reading of Psalm 23 was given by son Stuart MacAskill. Reflections were offered by Bill’s family, Linda Avery, Alvin Avery, Charlene Stone and Stuart MacAskill.

    Interment took place in the East Orange Cemetery with the Rev. Ricker offering the committal prayers. Bearers were Aric Avery, Jon Abts, Anthony Lowe, Eli McAllister, Fred McAllister and Matthew Ostrout.

    Following the committal service, family and friends gathered at the Avery home in East Orange for a time of sharing and refreshments.
