    Routine stop yields citation

DUXBURY — Expired inspection stickers took a back seat to a criminally suspended license for a Waitsfield man who was pulled over by state police on Main Street over the weekend.

Police said they were on routine patrol in Duxbury shortly before 6:30 p.m. Saturday when they pulled over a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Justin Monahan. Monahan was stopped, they said, because the vehicle he was driving did not have a valid inspection sticker.

During the course of the routine traffic stop, police determined Monahan’s driver’s license was under criminal suspension.

Monahan is expected to be charged in connection with that crime when he is arraigned at the criminal courthouse in Barre on May 22, police said.
