    Tessier a candidate

Following the resignation of Barre Town Select Board member Jeff Newton last week, the voters of Barre Town will have the opportunity to elect a candidate to serve the remaining year of the three-year term. Since the resignation was received after the petition deadline had passed, the election will be by write-in vote. I am announcing my intention to run for the vacant seat through a write-in campaign.

Having served on the Barre Town municipal budget committee for three years, I’ve developed a good understanding of our town government and its finances. I’ve learned of the difficulties in providing municipal services with limited resources. I understand the concerns of property tax payers and the need to find innovative solutions for the challenges ahead of us.

I’ve been a resident of Barre Town for most of my life, and I’ve worked in the central Vermont area for over 36 years. My wife and I, along with our two grown children, have enjoyed the benefits of living here. With the support of Barre Town voters, I’d like to continue to serve my community. I hope I can count on your support on May 13.
