    Totally wrong

The cost of education is a big issue today.

I read recently “a curriculum coordinator in suburban Chicago ... explaining that Common Core allows students to be totally right if they say 3 x 4 = 11 as long as they spout something about the necessarily faulty reasoning they used to get to that wrong answer.”

Here is a thought: Forget the “test til you drop” mentality, forget the “everyone passes, everyone is a winner” and get back to basics. How about teachers teach, not fill out paperwork, the whole point of which is to ... fill out paperwork.

“Totally right,” 3 x 4 = 11? There is something totally wrong about this, and first in line is the waste of money.
