Jeanne S. Leno
MONTPELIER ó Jeanne Claire Seguin Leno, 70, of Barre Street, Montpelier, and a resident of Woodridge Nursing Home, died March 14, 2014, at Central Vermont Medical Center.
She was born in Barre March 21, 1943, the daughter of Paul L. and Millicent (Fleurrey) Seguin.
Jeanne attended St. Michaelís Grade School and graduated from St. Michaelís High School in the class of 1960.
On April 8, 1961, she married Bernard C. Leno in St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Jeanne worked at National Life Insurance Co. and also for Thelma Corry, CPA, and she retired from the state of Vermont Agency of Transportation, Right of Way Division.
She loved to knit, read and play bingo. Jeanne will always be remembered for her dancing days with Bernie. She loved visiting with her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother, Millicent, of East Montpelier; five children, Michelle Dion and her husband, Mark, of Berlin, Bernard C. Leno Jr. and his wife, Vanessa, of East Calais, Christine Christensen and her husband, Jon, of Waterville, Maine, Christopher Leno and his wife, Laura, of Montpelier, and Crystal Lamson and her husband, Rob, of Northfield; 15 grandchildren, Melissa Cadorette and her husband, Jon, Monica Dion, Whitney Leno, Amanda Leno, Nicholas Christensen, Betsy Leno, Andrew Leno, Jennifer Christensen, Tabitha-Lee Leno, Nicholas Lamson, Curtis Leno, Hailey Lamson, Megan Leno, Elyza Lamson, and Autumn-Taylor Leno; five great-grandchildren, Riley Cadorette, Lydia Cadorette, Warren Richards, Hayden Leno and Jerimiah Leno; two sisters, Gaylene Kramer and Paula Perry; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Bernie, on Dec. 11, 2009; and her father, Paul Seguin, on April 24, 2013.
A funeral Mass and burial will be announced at a later date in the spring.
The family wants to thank the staff at Woodridge Nursing Home for their excellent and always kind care of our mother. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff of CVMC. They were the best.
