ST. JOHNSBURY -- Two Vermont men suspected of abducting and killing a Sheffield woman during what police say appeared to be a botched 2010 robbery of her home have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and other charges.
Twenty-seven-year-old Richard Fletcher and 33-year-old Keith Baird appeared at the Caledonia Superior Court in St. Johnsbury Monday.
Fletcher, Baird and 23-year-old Michael Norrie all of Sheffield are suspects in the shooting death of 78-year-old Pat O'Hagan, who disappeared on Sept. 10, 2010. Her body was found by hunters three weeks later in Wheelock.
All three men are in state or federal custody on charges unrelated to O'Hagan's death.
Court documents say O'Hagan was shot in the back of the head during a botched robbery, then was sexually assaulted.MORE IN This Just InWhen a playwright who has achieved success with dark realistic drama turns his pen to comedy, it...
