    Bags aren’t the problem

The shopping bag “tax type” 10 cent fee suggestion, currently being debated, will not help clean up Vermont as much as proposed.

Our littering eyesores are the hundreds of bottles and cans strewing our land for every bag discarded, which isn’t often seen.

Perhaps a new Vermont slogan: “the green taxed state.”

But seriously, by increasing the bottle law redemption another 10 cents, we will surely see a reduction in the waste that inhibits the natural beauty we all admire, living in the Green Mountains.
