• Vt police say Jeep may be tied to Berlin Mall gem theft
     | March 01,2014

BERLIN Police say a white Jeep might have been involved in a jewelry burglary from the Berlin Mall earlier this month.

Police said about $10,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from the J.C. Penney store early Feb. 10.

Police say the biggest item stolen was an engagement ring worth about $4,000 and that the chain store notified local jewelry stores and pawn shops about the stolen items.

According to police, what appears to be a white Jeep Patriot left the area at the suspected time of the robbery and might be involved.

Police are asking anyone with information about the break-in or the Jeep to call Berlin police at 223-4401 or email berlinpolicedepartment@gmail.com.
