WILLIAMSTOWN — Norine Latizia “Poochie” White, 81, of Garden Street, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. Her family had been at her bedside.
Born Aug. 8, 1932, in Barre, she was the daughter of Armando and Tomasa (Perez) Moruzzi. She was raised by her grandmother Almerida “Lita” Perez in Barre, where she attended elementary school and was a graduate of Spaulding High School in 1950.
Following her graduation, she worked in Bridgeport, Conn., as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Co., until her retirement Sept. 8, 1969.
On April 20, 1969, she married Michael White in Connecticut. They later divorced.
In 1979, “Poochie” moved to Williamstown, where she made her home for the rest of her life.
Some of her favorite pastimes were spending time with her daughter and her dog, Ginger, going for rides, and enjoying time on the beach in Maine.
She was also a member at St. Edward’s Church in Williamstown.
She is survived by two daughters, Valerie White-Beaudet, of Williamstown, and Jill White, of Graniteville; along with her son, Jack White, and his wife, Pam, of Hinsdale, N.H.; as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two brothers: James Remele and Vance Remele.
She was predeceased by her parents.
A private family service to celebrate her life will be held Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, with burial following at the Hope Cemetery.
