    Council on Aging, theater partnering

MONTPELIER — The Central Vermont Council on Aging is partnering with Lost Nation Theater on its 2014 Winterfest production of “Intake,” an award-winning play that speaks on the problems and challenges of getting older.

Remaining performances are today at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the wheelchair-accessible Montpelier City Hall Arts Center. For information on tickets, call the box office at 229-0492.

Council staff members will be available at each show to shed light on and answer questions about the variety of services provided to seniors around central Vermont.

“Intake” was written by Marshfield playwright Margot Lasher and was honored with the 2013 Vermont Playwrights Award. The play largely explores the interactions between an 82-year-old woman and an inexperienced psychiatrist searching for signs of dementia. As the play goes on, the doctor realizes that his judgments of the woman and the aging process in general were erroneous.
