    Harold A. York Jr. Rites

    GRANITEVILLE — The service to honor and celebrate the life of Harold Arthur York Jr., of McCarthy Road, was held Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre. He died at his home Feb. 4, 2014.

    The Rev. Rebecca Strader, pastor of the Graniteville Presbyterian Church, led the service. She also sang the hymn “Lord of All Hopefulness” and led the congregation in the hymn “Amazing Grace.”

    Brother-in-law Frank Rexford and former superintendent of maintenance and working colleague at Barre Town School Carl Davison shared memories of Harold, as did his granddaughters, Emily York and Olivia Ziter, and several members of the congregation.

    Entombment was made in the Hooker and Whitcomb receiving vault, to await burial in the Wilson Cemetery next spring.

    Fellowship, luncheon and further sharing time followed in the Graniteville Presbyterian Church dining room.
