    Guerlain has done much for city

    Over the past two years, I have had the opportunity to seek guidance from, and work closely with Thierry Guerlain on issues important to Montpelier, and I am proud to ask for support from District 2 voters to re-elect him to the City Council. Thierry is a focused listener and is resolute that his decisions must reflect the best interest of all of Montpelier — this is a guiding principle that he speaks of often. Thierry’s insights as a community builder and former business owner have driven his success and efficacy as a City Council leader. Thierry’s fiscal stewardship has held Montpelier’s tax rate growth to less than 2 percent for each of the budgets he has worked on, while allocating increased funding to improve Montpelier’s roads and sidewalks. And, his guidance and leadership have shaped the outcomes of the downtown improvement district, the creation of additional free parking spaces, the removal of unsightly, unnecessary utility poles, the acquisition of the Carr Lot for redevelopment and many other projects essential to the health, vibrancy and affordability of Montpelier. District 2 voters, please support Thierry Guerlain’s re-election on March 4.
