• Red Cross on spot for fires in Vt., N.H.

    GUILFORD — The Red Cross says it has responded to at least 35 fires in January in Vermont and New Hampshire.

    Among them was a house fire in Guilford on Friday. The family living there escaped.

    Earlier that day, a woman was displaced after a fire destroyed her mobile home in Marshfield.
