Crowd attends Vt. hearing on gun control measuresJanuary 28,2014

BURLINGTON -- Participants at a public hearing on three gun-control resolutions facing voters in Burlington, Vt., have questioned how the changes would be enforced.
A crowd attended the last public hearing on the subject Monday night at City Hall, before a town meeting vote in March, WCAX-TV reports.
People were asked to show their support for speakers by raising their hands. They went up mainly by people who opposed the proposal.
The measures would allow police to seize guns in cases of suspected domestic abuse, ban firearms in bars and require gun owners to keep their weapons locked up at home.
If voters accept the measures, they would have to be approved by the state Legislature.
