BARTON — A man wanted in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a Connecticut police officer has been arrested in northern Vermont.

Vermont State Police say 19-year-old Jaheem Snype and his half brother, 23-year-old Frankie Gonzalez, were arrested Wednesday night by local, state and federal authorities at a friend’s home in Barton.

Authorities say Snype struck New Britain, Conn., police officer Brett Morgan with a stolen car Sunday and dragged him nearly 100 feet.

New Britain police said Snype would face charges of attempted murder and assault and that Gonzalez would be charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence.

Morgan remains hospitalized but is expected to recover.
