Right to know
On Jan. 16, I attended the GMO-label lobbying day since that is a subject very close to my heart.
I have never understood what the problem with labeling GMOs is to begin with. All other ingredients are on the label, have to be on the label, so why not GMOs? There are many controversial opinions about GMOs. Monsanto’s people call them wonderful, other scientists condemn them, and many countries do not allow them. But all that is not really as important as my right to know. Regardless if good or bad, since there is such an emphasis on us being free people, can’t I at least expect that I am allowed to choose what I want to eat? Or does our praised freedom end where corporations don’t like it?
