• Woman killed in Hardwick crash

    HARDWICK — Police in Hardwick are investigating a two-vehicle crash that resulted in a passenger’s death.

    Police said it happened on Route 16 shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday. The crash killed Jessica Horowitz, 53, of Sharon, Mass., who was in the front passenger seat in a car driven by her husband, Noah Horowitz.

    Police said the car was heading south when it drifted into the northbound lane while rounding a corner. It collided with a northbound car being driven by 32-year-old Kellan Partridge. Her two children were with her.

    Noah Horowitz was hospitalized with rib fractures and other injuries. Partridge broke her hand, and her children had bumps and bruises.

    Police said factors leading to the crash included weather, road conditions, speed and defective equipment.
