HARDWICK — Police in Hardwick are investigating a two-vehicle crash that resulted in a passenger’s death.

Police said it happened on Route 16 shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday. Killed was 53-year-old Jessica Horowitz of Sharon, Mass., who was in the front passenger seat in a car driven by her husband, Noah Horowitz.

Police said the car was heading south on Route 16 when it drifted into the northbound lane while rounding a corner. It collided with a northbound car being driven by 32-year-old Kellan Partridge. Her two children were with her.

Noah Horowitz was hospitalized with multiple rib fractures and other injuries; Partridge suffered from a broken hand and her children suffered minor bumps and bruises.

Police said factors leading to the crash include weather, road conditions, speed and defective equipment.
