MILLSFIELD, N.H. – Authorities say a Vermont man was killed while helping a New Hampshire truck driver install tire chains on a tractor-trailer delivering logging equipment in Millsfield.

State police say 24-year-old truck driver Mike Doucette thought that 42-year-old victim Brian Young was clear of the vehicle on Monday when he began to drive the tractor-trailer forward. Young was hit and pronounced dead at the scene on Millsfield Pond Road.

Doucette was delivering a piece of logging equipment owned by Young deeper into the woods when the accident occurred.

State police said the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
