BERLIN – An armed robbery by a man wearing painter's tape on his face took place Monday night at the Mobil Short Stop in Berlin, police said.

The robber who was carrying a weapon entered the store shortly before 7 p.m. and demanded the clerk empty the cash register, police said. The man is described as 5 feet 10 inches to six feet tall with a medium build and dirty blonde hair. Police said he was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.

A canine working with police tracked the suspect's scent to a parking lot east of the store where police believe he entered a vehicle and fled the area.
