    MONTPELIER — The Washington County Sheriff’s Department has released the numbers from a sobriety checkpoint conducted Friday on Memorial Drive in Montpelier.

    According to the sheriff’s department, 296 vehicles were stopped and 561 people were contacted. Of those vehicles, four designated drivers were identified, 12 warnings were issued for various motor vehicle violations, five civil violation complaints were issued, two complaints of possession of under an ounce of marijuana were issued, and five operators were screened for suspected driving under the influence.

    Deanna L. Patsouris, 46, of East Berkshire, was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence and is scheduled to appear in Washington County criminal court; police did not release the date.
