WORCESTER — An East Barre man is accused of stealing $200 from his 101-year-old great-grandmother and has been cited by police.

Vermont State Police say Madeline Bador, of Worcester, called Oct. 27 to say her great-grandson, Richard Atkinson, 26, had stolen money from her. Bador told state police Atkinson had come by her home asking for $10 and then stole $200 out of her hand before taking off.

At the time, state police were unable to locate Atkinson, but they say he was found Wednesday at a Webster Street residence with the help of the Department of Corrections Field Supervision Unit.

Atkinson was taken into custody, cited and released with a scheduled court date of Feb. 2 in Washington County criminal court in Barre.
