BARRE — Donald Arthur Rennie, 67, of Ayers Street, died Sunday evening, Dec. 8, 2013, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
Born Aug. 20, 1946, in Barre, he was the son of John and Beulah (Parry) Rennie. He attended Barre schools, Spaulding High School, from which he graduated in 1966, and Champlain College in Burlington after his military service.
He had worked for several years as a sales clerk at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s department stores in New York City, and for almost 20 years as a clerk in the Department of Labor and Industry for the state of Vermont, retiring in 2002 because of ill health.
Being an Army veteran of the Vietnam era, he served from September 1966 to September 1969 and had been stationed in Germany.
His memberships included Mackenzie-Webster VFW Post 790 in Barre and Hardwick American Legion Post 7, and enjoyed spending time with his comrades there.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Ticia Medeiros, of Barre; his sister, Robin Rennie, of Enfield, N.H., and a brother, John Rennie Jr., of Springfield; and two nephews and numerous cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents.
His graveside service with military honors will be held at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, at a time to be announced next spring.
