    Heather Marie LaForest

    BERLIN — Heather Marie LaForest, 30, of Weston Street Ext., died Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. Her family was at her side.

    Born on September 21, 1983, she was the daughter of Michael and Sandy (Brown) LaForest. She attended elementary schools in Barre and Orange and was a graduate of Spaulding High School in 2003.

    During high school, she worked at the former Ames Department Store in Berlin. Heather had made her home in Barre and Berlin. She was affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Berlin.

    Heather’s interests included crocheting, fishing, playing cards and games with her sisters, puzzles, and riding motorcycles. She was an avid race fan. She enjoyed attending races at Thunder Road and watching NASCAR.

    Survivors include her son, Colby; her mother, Sandy LaForest of Berlin; her father, Michael LaForest and his wife, Tina of Orange; maternal grandmother, Peggy Jay and her husband, Darrell of South Woodbury; paternal grandmother, Esther Lussier of Barre; two sisters, her twin, Jessica LaForest of Berlin and Corinne LaForest and her fiancé, Donald Wedge of Brandon; and two half-sisters, Jennifer Young and her husband, Sean of Plainville, MA and Kristine Lane and her husband, Travis of Northfield. She also leaves behind her companion, Terry Cormier of Orange as well as aunts, uncles, two nephews, one niece, and cousins.

    Heather was predeceased by a son, Dion; her maternal grandfather, Clifford Brown; and her paternal grandfather, Frank Lussier.

    Heather’s life will be honored and celebrated on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Hersey Road in Berlin. Friends may call at the church in the Relief Society room from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

    Entombment will be in the Hooker and Whitcomb Vault pending spring interment in the Brook Haven Cemetery in Orange.

    Contributions in her memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in New England, 85 Astor Avenue, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.

    The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre is in charge of the arrangements.
