    Firing was wrong

I was very upset to see the Montpelier planning director dismissed. It is quite obvious why she was let go: The mayor (a lobbyist for Bank of America) didn’t like her stance on public banking. That came out right in the beginning, and now the city officials are trying to backpedal and say it was insubordination, which is a good catchall when you want to get rid of someone.

This is all very convenient for the employer and a bad precedent leading to unfair labor practices, in my opinion.
