Youth drug treatment gets big boost in part of Vt
BURLINGTON ó Drug abuse treatment programs for youths and young adults in Washington and Chittenden counties are in line for a major boost in funding.
Washington County Youth Services, based in Montpelier, and Centerpoint Adolescent Treatment Services, in Winooski and South Burlington, will share a $3.8 million federal grant with the Vermont Health Department, which will coordinate the grant.
Centerpoint Director Mitch Barron said the efforts will focus not just on the growing heroin and opiate addiction problem in the state but on marijuana and alcohol issues.
