Who is the real bonehead?
Gov. Shumlin recently committed a serious faux pas in speaking of state workers as “boneheads.”
But I must ask:
Who spent $170 million (more than twice the contracted amount) with an out-of-state company to develop a software system for the new health care exchange?
Who spent $2.8 million with an out-of-state ad agency for ads to give Vermonters the “warm fuzzies” for their new health care system?
Who gave the public assurances that the health care exchange website would be up and running Oct. 1, and subsequently had to extend the deadline for cutover to new policies due to the website flop?
And who let an inadequately tested website go live?
Who planned and pushed legislators to pass a health care reform act that is now estimated to cost as much as $2.2 billion, roughly 25 percent more than previous estimates.
Will the real “bonehead” please stand up?
