BURLINGTON ó University of Vermont students are competing for a $1,000 prize in a computer science fair.
The event will be held the afternoon of Dec. 4 in UVMís Billingís Library.
More than 160 registered contestants will present about 90 computing projects. They might include flying a simulated spaceship or processing tweets to understand consumer preferences.
Maggie Eppstein is chairwoman of UVMís computer science department and the head organizer of the fair.
She says the fair is a great opportunity for people inside and outside the UVM community to see what computer science students are up to, for current or future UVM students to scope out computer science as a potential major, and for employers to meet potential future interns and employees.MORE IN Vermont NewsMONTPELIER ó More than 2,000 young adults might have wrongly stayed on the stateís health...
