• Fire breaks out in Newport apartment building

    NEWPORT — Four families have been displaced by a fire in an apartment building in Newport.

    No injuries were reported Thursday.

    The Red Cross Disaster Team met with families to help find them temporary housing and financial assistance for food and clothing.

    Fire officials have not said what caused the fire in the multi-unit building.
