Vt principal gets diversion; failed to note abuse
DANVILLE — A high school principal charged with failing to report a suspected case of abuse is having his case sent to court diversion.
If Danville High School Principal Noah Noyes successfully meets the requirements of the diversion program, the charges against him will be resolved and there will be no criminal conviction on his record.
The 30-year-old Noyes and Caledonia Central Supervisory Union Superintendent Martha Tucker were charged with misdemeanors after they didn’t report an allegation that a Danville High School teacher improperly touched a female student.
Noyes reported the incident to Tucker, but the incident was not reported to the state as required by law.
Noyes and Tucker had both pleaded not guilty. The charges against Tucker are pending.
Noyes told the Caledonian Record that he had no comment.
