    Clinic holds

    open house

Before it begins serving people addicted to drugs in the Rutland community Wednesday, the West Ridge Center for Addiction Recovery is opening its doors to the public today.

Starting at noon, a grand opening celebration will be held at the new drug treatment center in building 10 of the Howe Center where state and local officials, including Gov. Peter Shumlin and Health Commissioner Harry Chen, will tour the facility.

The center is part of a statewide treatment network and the first of its kind in Rutland County. Starting Wednesday, people addicted to opiates such as heroin and prescription painkillers will be able to receive treatment involving the dispensing of methadone and buprenorphine. Patients will also receive an array of services ranging from therapy and group sessions to case management.
