Per the ongoing squabble among City Hall, the mayor, the planning commission, the city planning director and the rest of the parties in this sordid, ongoing story:
My husband and I moved here in 2009 in an escape from Boston in an effort to find a kind and copacetic community. Until recently, it’s been copacetic indeed; the 3rd of July Parade, the Valentine’s Day Phantom, First Night, our UU Church and so much else has made us feel like we are part of something wonderful. But to witness this drama of small-minded intimidation, character assassination, he-said-she-said, holier-than-thou, backstabbing garbage happening right now over what began as a clear effort to silence an “outlier” is beyond disquieting. It’s just disgusting.
We might as well just move back to Boston, where we can at least drown our sorrows about the horrors of crazy Congress and the pettiness of small town government in a good cocktail after the sidewalks roll up at 9 p.m.
