Maurice G. Ferris Rites
NORTHFIELD — The Mass of Christian Burial for Maurice “Bob” Gavin Ferris, 89, a former resident of South Barre, was celebrated Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at 1 p.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. He passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at Mayo Healthcare in Northfield.
The Rev. Lourduraja Simeone, parochial vicar, and the Rev. Leopold Bilodeau, pastor of the church, were the celebrants.
The crucifer and altar server was Lawrence Reilly.
Organist and singer, Rosie Badeau accompanied singers, Ron Routhier and Richard Shadroui in the hymns, “Glory and Praise To Our God,” “Here I Am, Lord,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Song of Farewell,” and “Amazing Grace.”
The eulogy was given by Sara Ferris Howard.
Readings from the Old and New Testaments were by Sister Elizabeth Driscoll and Lawrence Reilly.
The offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Marc Ferris and Nathan Howard.
Interment followed in the family lot in the Wilson Cemetery in Websterville, with Rev. Simeone offering the committal prayers.
After the service, family and friends gathered at the Steak House Restaurant in Berlin for a time of fellowship and refreshments.
